my precious

Today we're gonna make it official... we get a baby :-)

We're in the 17th week now and I already get the feeling that "he" will be the new center of my life. The beginning was a bit complicated, but now it seems, that he will grow nicely. We are now searching for a lovely name for this most beautiful baby. Comments and suggestions are highly appreciated... :-)

childhood memories

I found this in the internet and I think it's one of the best webcams of my childhood's hometown. It's also funny, that this webcam is being maintained by an old schoolmate of mine... he's a nice guy and he's the man who sold me his electric guitar, my "famous" white Fender Bullet. Wondering, how his life is going...

So, what you can see here? The town, where I spent my childhood is called Füssen and it is located in the south at the border to Austria. In my opinion it's one of the most beautiful areas in Germany. It undoubtably became famous because of the castles which are close: Neuschwanstein and the castle Hohenschwangau. The webcam shows the mountain, where the castle Neuschwanstein resides. This is almost the same view, which I had from my room in my parent's house. Getting a bit sentimental now, so I stop here ;-)

In Utero...

This posting is about a show which I've seen 15 years ago in Munich: NIRVANA

I went to that show with highest expectations but got an average, however highly professional performance. When I think back to that show, I really got the impression that the band - in persona Kurt Cobain - didn't like to be what they were: teenage stars... I was young at this time, however I wasn't a teenage anymore ;-), so I watched the band from a longer distance. As I can remember, it was quite a short gig, just a bit longer than an hour or so. The supporters were Melvins, who were also a great "seattle" band in that time, but not so famous in germany.

I was quite satiesfied to have seen one of my idols live on stage. For sure it was a legendary show, but due to a very sad circumstance. I just found out later, that this gig was the last Nirvana show ever. All the other gigs of the "In Utero" tour had been cancelled and about a month later, at April the 5th, Kurt Cobain died by a bullet of his shotgun...
